In those early decades, it was common for local builders to take on the role of undertakers, utilising their local knowledge and practical skills, they were naturally called upon to support families at times of loss. Ellis Bros embraced this responsibility with the same care and craftsmanship they brought to their building work.
As the years passed and the needs of the community evolved, families began seeking more dedicated support to assist with the arrangement of funerals and the undertaking side of the business grew steadily in response.
